ANOINTING OF THE SICK
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick
"In their distress they cried to the Lord, who saved them in their peril."
- Psalms 107:19
The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick continues Jesus’ work of healing and salvation. By the grace of this sacrament, the individual receives peace and courage to endure, unity with Christ and the whole Church, forgiveness of sins, restoration of health if helpful for salvation and preparation for passing over to eternal life. The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick reminds us that the Lord’s compassion for us is endless.
